How To Get Into Fort Gael Elden Ring Location And Entrance

Fort Gael stands as a heavily guarded stronghold situated on the western border of Caelid, right near the threshold of Limgrave. Approaching the fort for the first time can be confusing because its massive main gate is completely locked from the inside. Players must navigate around the exterior fortifications to discover a hidden side entrance to claim the valuable treasures within.

Finding the Location of Fort Gael

To reach Fort Gael, players should start by traveling toward the western edge of the Caelid region. The fort is positioned due south of the Rotview Balcony and west of the Smoldering Wall Site of Grace. As you approach the area, you will spot the massive stone structure looming near a cliffside backdrop.

Before attempting to enter, it is recommended to rest at the Fort Gael North Site of Grace located just outside. This checkpoint provides a safe spawn point in case you run into trouble with the local garrison. The surrounding area is guarded by Redmane soldiers and Flame Chariots, so caution is advised.

Navigating to the Hidden Side Entrance

Upon reaching the front of Fort Gael, you will notice that the front gate cannot be opened from the outside. To find the true entrance, head around the right side of the fort's exterior walls. Follow the cliff edge while remaining alert for patrolling guards along the path.

Along the side of the fortress, you will spot a massive tree root extending toward the stone walls. Walk across this root to reach a platform along the outer wall where a ladder is located. Climbing this ladder allows you to bypass the front defenses and step directly onto the upper ramparts.

Unlocking the Main Gate and Finding Rewards

Once you are on the upper ramparts, you can fight or bypass the Redmane Knights holding the courtyard. Follow the wooden scaffolding around the ramparts to find a lever positioned near a flaming brazier. Pulling this lever permanently opens the front gate, allowing easy access for future visits.

Inside Fort Gael, adventurers can collect several powerful items to aid their journey through the Lands Between. Defeating the Lion Guardian inside grants a valuable Ash of War, while hidden chests contain weapons like the Katar. Additionally, a teleporter at the top of the highest tower offers direct transport toward Redmane Castle.
