Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower TOTK Location And Unlock Guide

Exploring the vast landscapes of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom requires mapping out your surroundings early to locate critical structures and hidden treasures. One of the initial landmarks that adventurers encounter is the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower, which serves as a crucial point for revealing the southeastern regions of the world map. Navigating to this location and resolving its unique mechanical blockage is essential for players looking to streamline their exploration route.
Finding the Exact Tower Location
The Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower is situated on a high hill within the West Necluda region, specifically located southeast of Central Hyrule. Players tracking its coordinates will find it resting precisely at 1344, -1170, 0166 on the regional map layout. This landmark is highly visible from a distance, making it an easy point to navigate toward once you cross the nearby wetlands.
Approaching the structure on foot is generally straightforward, though climbing the surrounding cliffs will require a bit of early-game stamina management. You can spot the distinctive glowing lights of the facility resting atop a grassy plateau overlooking the local valley. Reaching this summit provides a great vantage point before attempting to figure out the puzzle waiting at the entrance doors.
Interacting with the Locked Entrance
Upon arriving at the facility, players will notice Billson, the Rito maintenance worker, struggling to open the heavy front sliding doors from the outside. He explains that the internal mechanism seems completely jammed, preventing anyone from entering the main command terminal to activate the launch pad. He mentions needing a quick energy snack from the cave system resting directly beneath his feet to keep his strength up.
While his dialogue drops subtle clues about the underground pathways, you do not actually need to harvest any specific ingredients for him to progress the storyline. Instead, his presence indicates that the solution to this architectural puzzle requires exploring the subterranean environment beneath the hill. This shifting perspective forces adventurers to look down rather than trying to climb up the exterior framework.
Navigating the Subterranean Cave System
To access the cave layout, drop down the eastern side of the cliff face to locate the opening of the Sahasra Slope Cave network. The entrance paths are heavily blocked by dense clusters of cracked rocks that require heavy blunt weapons or explosive materials to clear efficiently. Bringing along several boulder-fused weapons or a healthy supply of bomb flowers will ensure a smooth excavation process.
As you smash through the stony interior, you will encounter multiple splitting pathways that harbor hidden enemies and valuable resource deposits. Your primary objective is to tunnel deep enough until you position yourself directly beneath the interior floor grid of the locked structure. Paying close attention to your mini-map tracking will help you align your avatar with the building resting on the surface.
Using Ascend to Overcome the Obstacle
Once you locate a small alcove situated directly under the facility's foundations, activate your Ascend ability to transition vertically through the solid stone ceiling. If your alignment is correct, your character will pop straight out into the locked interior room of the tower itself. Inside the command center, you will immediately notice two sturdy long wooden poles jamming the sliding door tracks from both sides.
Simply step up to the doors and use your Ultrahand ability or standard interaction buttons to lift and remove both long sticks from the sliding pathways. Once the obstructions are cleared out of the way, slide the front entrance open to let the relieved Rito maintenance technician step inside. Billson will quickly fix the remaining console errors, allowing you to interface with the main terminal and launch into the sky to scan the surrounding Necluda province.
